Following on from the previous page, here’s some more disassembly of the Dawn 6LQ vice. One screw removed and the flat bar comes out:
Leaving this in the slide:
The spring unhooks and rotates away easily:
Now we can see that the other end of the spring sits in a slot in the nut:
The nut and spring slide off:
The handle then slides out in the opposite direction:
Someone has made a repair to this one in the past:

The opposite end has a casting with a hole for the screw to sit into:
The inside of the slide has more roughness than in the other Dawns I have cleaned up:
