Continuing on from part one of the Dawn 100mm SG offset vice review and restoration.
The nearest colour that was available locally in a hammertone green was the Hammerite green – it ended up being a bit darker than the original, however. First coat:

The colour became much brighter and deeper with the suggested second coat – here’s one from later showing the green:
The paint was pretty economical – here’s how much was left in a 250ml tin after two coats on the vice:
The handle needed some attention – it was reasonably bent, so it was straightened in a hydraulic press:
Much straighter. I also replaced the spring, which was looking a bit shorter than it should have. Part number 65120, WASHER/PIN/SPRNG 115SP-125L:
I received four washers, where there were only three in the vice. Nice to have a spare I suppose!
