The CBR929RR has upside down forks and was produced from 2000 to 2002, after which point it was replaced by the CBR954RR. The front suspension consists of inverted HMAS cartridge forks with spring-preload, rebound and compression-damping adjustability. Cartridge forks are a more modern design than the damper rod design of the CX/GL range. The CBR929RR has a 43mm stanchion, which is bigger than any of the CX or GL stock options (varied between 33 and 39mm depending on model).

The upside down forks have 120mm of suspension travel - 4.7". The CBR929RR has a dry weight of 172kg - so they are coming from a lighter bike than the CX/GL range.

The front brakes are on both the left and right hand sides of the wheel and the disc is 330mm in diameter.

CBR929RR and CBR954RR upper triple trees are apparently identical.

The top triple clamp has a 50mm hole and the bottom triple has a 53mm hole. From the top of the fork cap to the axle center is 715 or 716mm (ref).

The SC44 Honda CBR929RR steering stem is 222mm tall approx - this is a good match to the CX500 or GL500's stem length (221-223mm).

The steering stops on the top and lower triple are not compatible with the CX or GL frame - here's the stock triple stops vs. the frame stops on a GL500I:

Does not fit at all without modification. The top triple doesn't fit either:

The lower triple is certainly chunkier than the stock CX or GL triple!

As you'll note in the above pic the threads on the stems seem to be similar to the CX/GL thread locations.
