There are seven widths across the Honda CX500, GL500, CX650 and GL650 Crank Bearing Press tool – which we took a closer look at in this article – some of which have a bevel:
There’s also an extra ring that sits around it (present in the above photo) for some of it’s tasks – we don’t have the dimensions of that yet but when we do we will add them to this article. On one end there’s a P, the other an R:
Starting at the end marked “P” we measured the width of the tool using a Mitutoyo 103-130 outside micrometer (Amazon, eBay US, eBay CA, eBay UK, eBay AU) – #4 was out of the range of our available micrometers so we switched to the a 0-150mm digital vernier caliper (Amazon, eBay US, eBay CA, eBay UK, eBay AU), which also served to measure the length. The calipers were only able to resolve to 0.01mm, however, where the micrometer resolves down to 0.001mm – when we get a 50-75mm micrometer we will update. The measurements:
- 36.187mm diameter, 4.70mm height
- 42.860mm diameter, 20.89mm height
- 46.808mm diameter, 1.69mm height
- 51.02mm diameter, 33.16mm height
- 46.164mm diameter, 28.06mm height
- 42.861mm diameter, 20.92mm height
- 35.998mm diameter, 4.61mm height
The overall length of the tool is 115.062mm. The margin for error is reasonable in the height measurements due to the available device not being the most accurate!
