Waldown bench mounted twin spindle impact wrench info and pics

Here’s a very interesting Waldown tool I was sent photos of – a twin-spindle bench mounted impact wrench:

The pneumatics were made in the UK by Thor, and appear to be size 5M-430. The model is a little harder to make out – 981351 perhaps?

Thor Tools did not come into being until 1962, so this Waldown unit dates post-1962. Prior to 1962 the UK company was called Armstrong Whitworth and Co (Tools) Ltd, London and Tynemouth. You can see in the below ad from that year that the company dealt in multi-spindle pneumatic solutions, not unlike what we see in this Waldown unit:

Note that there was another company called Thor in the US, which seems to have been active around the same time.
