Adam has sent in a review of the Motion Pro 08-0290 or 57-8290 171219 KTM fork cap spanner, also used as a rear wheel bearing retainer removal tool for the Honda CX500 and apparently also the CR250 and CR450. It’s available on eBay US, eBay AU, eBay UK, eBay CA or Amazon.
Today we are just looking at it from the perspective of the CX500 bearing retainer removal tool – I don’t own a KTM and can’t comment on it’s application there!
The tool features a 22mm hex or a 3/8″ square drive – both of these are good news when it comes to reinstalling the bearing retainer as you can put a torque wrench on it, unlike the drift-and-hammer approach where you can’t measure the torque applied.
