Firstly we’re looking at the O-ring joining the pickup pipe and the oil pump body:
It’s one of two different sizes depending on which model of oil pump you have;
Model | Part No. | Alt. Part. No. | Size | Other compatible size(s) |
---|---|---|---|---|
CDI CX500s | 16997-357-003 (eBay US, eBay AU, Amazon, CMSNL) | 91320-MJ6-003 (eBay US, eBay AU, CMSNL) | 11.8×2.4 | ? |
TI CX500s + GL500s | 91302-377-000 (eBay US, eBay AU, Amazon, CMSNL) | – | 15×2.5 | ? |
CX650 + GL650 | 91302-377-000 (eBay US, eBay AU, Amazon, CMSNL) | – | 15×2.5 | ? |
Grab the two flange bolts to attach the pickup pipe to the oil pump body – part number 95700-0601400 for all models:
Grab your torque wrench – we set ours to 10Nm:
The bolts take a 10mm socket:
Make sure the O-ring is seated properly and not pinched out one side. Bolts tightened:
The other O-ring is on the front of the oil pump:
The part number for this O-ring is the same across the CX500, GL500, CX650 and GL650 engines (naturally aspirated, anyhow):
Model | Part No. | Size | Other compatible size(s) |
---|---|---|---|
CX500, GL500, CX650, GL650 | 91301-268-020 | 14mm | ? |
Don’t forget that there’s a dowel that sits inside the O-ring:
The dowel is part number 15155-300-000.
On the CX650 and GL650 oil pump the pickup screen is a separate part to the pickup tube, and has an O-ring of it’s own – part number 91363-MC7-004, which is 15.3 x 3.5mm. More on this part of the assembly later:
We also cover the front O-ring replacement in the front cover installation article. If you’re looking for how to assess the CX650/GL650 oil pump, check out the procedure here.
