Murray of Murray’s Carbs has sent in this home-made carb cleaner recipe that he found online years ago and feels works very well:
- 1qt Alcohol
- 1qt Acetone
- 1qt Xylol
- Empty 1 gallon paint thinner can
Simply mix all three ingredients together in the can and voilà, carb cleaner. The usual caveats apply when working with dangerous chemicals – they’re dangerous! Carcinogenic, flammable and so on… so be careful in their use, storage and otherwise.
Also note that this isn’t really the kind of thing you want to be putting in an ultrasonic cleaner – stick to mild detergents in small quantities.
