Where is the carb sync screw and vacuum port? Honda CX500, GL500, CX650, GL650

If you are synchronising the carburetors on your Honda CX500, GL500, CX650 or GL650 motorcycle you will need to know the location of the intake vacuum ports and the carb sync screw. The sync screw is inbetween the carbs on all of the models but it is not necessarily obvious if you aren’t sure what to look for. Below are some pics that might help.

So far we only have the one pic – we will add to it over time. In the meantime, the vacuum ports are on the aluminium parts of the intake tubes between the carbs and engine head – this is the same for all models. One port per side.

GL500, CX500E Sports

Coming soon. It looks the same as the one pictured above, it’s just stuck inbetween carbs that are a lot closer together.

CX650, GL650

Near the vacuum port for the vacuum line tha goes to the petcock, on the front side of the carbs (front as in front when installed in the motor).

Now head back to the main carb page for the CX and GL V-twins for the next step.
