Here’s how to reinstall the clutch basket on a Honda CX650E, GL650, GL700 or CX650C motorcycle. It’s broadly the same process as the CX500/GL500 motorcycles though the basket spacers and split gear arrangement are slightly different.
The first thing we install is the thrust washer at the back, part number 90453-ME2-000 (sometimes on CMSNL):

Bearing in place around the shaft leading into the transmission:
Next, get your clutch outer guide – part number 22116-ME2-000, superseded by 22116-ME7-000 (available on CMSNL at the time of writing):
…and the needle bearing 91021-ME2-003 (available new here):
Wet the rollers with fresh engine oil and put the needle bearing around the guide:
…then insert both pieces together into the back of the clutch basket (22100-ME2-000, sometimes available here and includes the needle bearing) from the front side:
