One oft-asked question regarding the CX500 is how to lower the rear end; a less-asked question is how to lower the rear end safely!
Some of the things you have to consider:
- Shock travel
- Ride stiffness
- Riding solo or 2-up?
- Lowering the front to match - yes or no?
- Impact on handling
- Kickstand height after lowering
- Ground clearance
Often, you get what you pay for - and sometimes it's hard to find important things like shock travel figures for the cheaper items. Do your research before buying so that you don't get an unpleasant surprise when a big pothole causes your rear tyre to slam and lock up.
More to come!
