Nemo Gould is an American artist who has turned his attention to the Honda CX500;
…which is a long, long way from where it began (as a 1979 non-runner):
Nemo says he was drawn to the CX500 as it matched the aesthetic he had developed with his sculptures, and he found the shaft drive engine setup interesting. Unusually for Nemo all of the metalwork that went into this build was hand-done from sheets of aluminium, rather than utilising found objects.
The project goal was to have a fully functional motorcycle which fitted the description of “Classic, without being nostalgic”. Nemo says he didn’t have a build path in mind from the beginning; the build instead developed one part at a time through trial and error.
