Most people asking about these are interested in swapping between the Shadow/Standard/Deluxe with the Custom or vice-versa. This is possible as the splined shaft that they fit onto is the same. The footpegs are different between the models, though! The lengths:
As you can see the Custom variant is about four inches longer than the Standard/Shadow/Deluxe - which makes using the Custom pedal with the Deluxe footpegs rather impractical as the gap between the peg and pedal is huge! One famous CX500forum.com member described it as a setup requiring shoes like Sideshow Bob...
