The online parts fiches show the CX500 Custom – 1979, 1980, 1981 – came with 22870-MA1-000, superseded by 22870-ME2-000. This doesn’t match with the physical parts manuals which have the numbers shown above. The measured length appears to be the same between the two cables, though, so one would suspect that they are compatible.
